Growing Up In Pisgah
I interviewed my grandpa’s sister about what it was like to grow up in Pisgah. This is the story I wrote after talking to her.
Doesn’t Look Like Much, But A Lot Goes On In Pisgah
The following is an article Gil Masters wrote in 1995 about what went on in Pisgah, including the popularity of the famous Pisgah caps. Gil graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1928. He lived and worked on his uncle’s farm and was very familiar with the Pisgah grain elevator and the surrounding areas. He died in 2004 at the age of 94. (According to Gil’s son, Bill Masters) Story shared with us by Mary Beth Doolin Kruzan. Corresponding photos shared by Jim Knapp and Terry Wood Cully.
