OTHER MENTIONS OF THE STORE OWNERS

May 24, 1935 dated newspaper article mentions James W. Boyer and his son-in-law, Willis Schubart, used to run store “years ago”, but didn’t say when.

Nov 3, 1936 – Gus Kilver mentioned as proprietor of Pisgah Store. (article about Mrs. Charles Wood attack). We aren’t sure this is true. Gus Kilver ran the Pisgah Elevator for many years, but his family doesn’t think he ever ran the store. This could be an error in the paper?

Harry Fox – Red & White Grocery – date unknown. Mentioned in Jack Kilver article about Pisgah. Cecil Mansfield was Mr. Fox’s clerk per the same article.

Red & White Store mentioned in 13 April 1934 advertisement. Doesn’t say who owned it at the time, but Harry Fox probably did.

James Hall was referred to as ‘The Pisgah Merchant’ in newspaper articles. Does this mean he was the owner of the Pisgah Store? Dates: Nov 21, 1903, October 17, 1905, Nov 25, 1905, Nov 28, 1905, Dec 2, 1905
